Inspiration
To make your social platforms work for you, you really need to be posting regularly; most studies agree that once per day (per platform) is optimal - at a minimum, you should post to your Facebook page 3 times per week.
Keep It Interesting
So, what can you post? After you’ve posted an ‘about me’ post, a picture of your desk / dog / coffee and one client testimonial, what else can you post without being repetitive and / or boring?
Well, this is not my first rodeo, so I can produce engaging content forever… for you!
A well-structured content plan covering a variety of subject matters and targeted ‘call to actions’ (CTAs) is essential.
Organisation
Even the smallest of campaigns could have 45 posts per month, spread across 3 platforms pointing to various points on your website, email, etc.
Data Overload
Each one of these could have a different image, should be posted at the optimal time of the day and be targeted to the specific audience you have / want to have on each platform.

To get good results from a Social Media platform, you have to understand what they are trying to achieve. Not understanding why they exist or do what they do, will mean you couldn't accidentally be fighting against their algorithms.

Option 1
A new blog or web page, plus a post every day for a month, on 3 social platforms.
I research, write and source imagery for 1 blog post / web page - to link to / optimise current promotions, relevant subject matters etc.
I design / schedule a month-long plan for daily content; subject matters, imagery, links, hashtags. You are free to use this template yourself in future.
Includes timed scheduling to avoid duplicate content and optimise platform views.
I write and source imagery for 1 post every day for a month, on 3 platforms (approx. 90 posts per month). This can include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and more.
I upload the posts to an automatic scheduler such as Hootsuite (from £39/month) – this involves:
Formatting the spreadsheet to suit requirements
Uploading / copy / pasting spreadsheet contents
Choose the correct time of day for a post to go live, based on expert advice / Hootsuite
Assign images, links and hashtags to each post
Review every post and preview how it will appear on each platform – make changes where necessary

CASE STUDY
One of my website design clients, penninelocalproducers.co.uk, was previously operating under a different business name via a franchise agreement. Having decided that he wanted to ‘go it alone’ (and having organised a superb website!), he then needed to let people know.
I devised a 2 week launch plan for 3 social platforms - Facebook, Instagram and Twitter - a total of 63 posts. The messaging was very clear; “We used to be X, now we’re X' - same people, same service - new name and website!”.
